Beats, anyone?

We love music, right? I mean... Who doesn't? Well there's this one music website where one can listen to some beats. When I first visited it, the site loaded fastly. I have always had this thinking that music websites often take so much time to load. But this site? It's an exception. And the list of music are properly laid out. The site is simple yet elegant. The beats can be played upon your choice and when you like them, you have to register to download it. The fees are quite expensive but I guess the beats are worth the price. Why? It's because these beats are original and they are composed and uploaded by real artists. They may not be that famous but they have the talent to compose beats! Amazing, right? So this site is not just for downloads. You can also submit your composition and become a featured artist. One thing more, once you have downloaded a beat, you can use it to make a song. You can sell, distribute, perform and broadcast the song/video you make with any instrumental downloaded from the site. Jee Juh Productions make all these possible for musically-inclined people who either want to compose, or make use of the beats to come up with a real song. Beats, anyone? Visit their site now.

Mac Games and More

I'm not really that type of person who's into games. But sometimes I play especially when I get so bored. I even get addicted to some fun games. One can find many downloadable games online. However, I got into this website where there are free mac games. Mac, yes! As in Macintosh games! How many of you love Mac? *grins* For those who do not know yet, Mac developers created mac games that have very nice user interface. I like the design of the games! I know you'll like them. And oh! By the way, everyone knows how to play solitaire, right? You can also play spider solitaire for mac, too! Curious? Just click one of the links and find out for yourself. *winks* Enjoy the mac games!

All I Want For Christmas

a baby??? No! Not yet, of course! *laughs*

It's exactly 30 days before Christmas and honestly, I really don't know what my heart's deepest desire is for Christmas. I haven't really been enjoying my Christmas these past few years. Happy, in a way, yes... But there's always something missing. And I don't know what that is. Maybe I just miss celebrating Christmas with my whole family. It's been a long time since all the members of our family celebrated Christmas together. Awww... I miss us. Geez... stop!:)

But hey! I have here a list of things that I want this Christmas! *winks*
  • new magic wallet
  • plain Havaianas slim slippers
  • external hard disk
  • 8gig flash disk
  • fluffy flip flops
  • pajamas
  • extra cellphone
  • "Whatever" shirt
  • big huggable stuffed toy!!!
  • Nike sling bag
  • kinda big shoulder bag (for my books)
  • chocolates
Hahaha! Wow! Not so many, huh? *grins* Oh well, I accept gifts from anyone. Haha! And you, do you want to make me happy? Send me gifts! *lol* Joke! (but jokes are half-meant) *evilsmile*

Merry Christmas, everyone!:)

Unpretty

Whenever one visits my blog, one wonders why its title is "Unpretty". I should have posted the origin of this blog title the first time I got it published. But it's not yet too late to inform you now, right?

The first time I came across the word "unpretty" was when I first heard the song "Unpretty" by TLC. I guess that was almost ten years ago. The song is nice and somehow I started to relate to it when I reached college. I'm also fond of chatting in mIRC and there was once I used it as my nick. But then I stopped using it after finding out there was another girl using the same nick. "Oh well... I can still use it as the title of my blog," I thought. So here, the title of my blog is Unpretty. Why? It's because some people make me feel I am. I can't please everyone, right? And I guess I'd have to live with that. But, I'm still grateful some would say I'm not. Gee, thanks! *winks* I love you! But still... I like the title of my blog, unique! :)

So here's the song I'm referring to. Enjoy the video!:)

VIXY - Online Video Converter

A friend of mine requested me to master his favorite song. I wasn't able to download it on Limewire so I decided to download only the audio of the song's video from YouTube. So I asked my friend Thesa how to do it and she suggested to visit vix-y.net. I was totally amazed! Or maybe I was just so ignorant. *laughs* I think converting the video to MP3 format is a lot easier and faster than downloading mp3s. All you have to do is enter the video's URL! Great!

Here are the screenshots of the tool... You can download the Vixy.net Converter Desktop Version here.

Boost Your Self-Esteem

I so need these tips right now. I just had a very bad experience I think I'll never forget. Imagine being compared to a girl you know who is a lot more beautiful than you in class. "Who is more beautiful?" -- "Who is more attractive?" Dammit! It was the most embarrassing and most humiliating experience I ever had. It damaged my self-esteem. I am so damaged. Damaged to the point that I sought ways to make my self feel better. I really hope I could get over this soon. God, help me.

* * *

1) Think back to when you did something new for the first time.

Learning something new is often accompanied by feelings of nervousness, lack of self belief and high stress levels, all of which are necessary parts of the learning process. The next time you feel under-confident, remembering this will remind you that it's perfectly normal - you're just learning!

2) Do something you have been putting off.

Like writing or calling a friend, cleaning the house, tidying the garden, fixing the car, organizing the bills, making a tasty and healthy meal - anything that involved you making a decision, then following through!

3) Do something you are good at.

Examples? How about swimming, running, dancing, cooking, gardening, climbing, painting, writing… If possible, it should be something that holds your attention and requires enough focus to get you into that state of 'flow' where you forget about everything else. You will feel more competent, accomplished and capable afterwards, great antidotes to low self esteem!

And while you're at it, seriously consider doing something like this at least once a week. People who experience 'flow' regularly seem to be happier and healthier.

4) Stop thinking about yourself!

I know this sounds strange, but low self esteem is often accompanied by too much focus on the self. Doing something that absorbs you and holds your attention can quickly make you feel better.

5) Get seriously relaxed.

If you are feeling low, anxious or lacking in confidence, the first thing to do is to stop thinking and relax properly. Some people do this by exercising, others by involving themselves in something that occupies their mind. However, being able to relax yourself when you want is a fantastic life skill and so practicing self hypnosis, meditation, or a physically-based relaxation technique such as Tai Chi can be incredibly useful.

When you are properly relaxed, your brain is less emotional and your memory for good events works better. A great 'rescue remedy'!

6) Remember all the things you have achieved.

This can be difficult at first, but after a while, you'll develop a handy mental list of self-esteem boosting memories. And if you're thinking "But I've never achieved anything", I'm not talking about climbing Everest here.

Things like passing your driving test (despite being nervous), passing exams (despite doubting that you would), playing team sport, getting fit (even if you let it slip later), saving money for something, trying to help someone (even if it didn't work) and so on.

7) Remember that you could be wrong!

If you are feeling bad about yourself, remember that you way you feel affects your thoughts, memory and behavior. So when you feel bad, you will only remember the bad times, and will tend to be pessimistic about yourself. This is where the tip 'Get Seriously Relaxed' comes in!

Summary

Once you have tried out a few of these, consider making them a permanent part of your life. For most people, good self esteem is not just a happy accident, it's a result of the way they think and the things they do from day to day. Good Luck!

Yeah, good luck to me. =(

Breaking Free in Camiguin

Just came back from Camiguin Island!!! Wooooot! We had so much fun! With at least Php 1,300.00 as pocket money, the five of us (Alvin, Arriane, Bevs, Ken, and I) already enjoyed our stay there last October 28-30. We went to Sto. Nino Cold Spring, Soda Swimming Pool, Old Church Ruins, Sunken Cemetery, Walkway, Ardent Hot Spring, and last but the best, White Island. Quite a lot, huh? It was my second time to tour Camiguin and yet, the feeling of visiting that place is always new to me. Fun fun fun! *grins* Below are some pictures taken.. more photos
